About SS Cars SS 1 Saloon

Appearing in 1934, it was intended to expand the line of SS 1 cars . The model was made on the already upgraded chassis and engine Standard.

The main difference from previous models was the presence of additional glass in the roof, which created a full and comfortable interior for both people in the front seats and rear passengers.

The car was produced until 1936, the exact number of copies created is unknown.

Designed specifically for those who prefer Saloon cars. The characteristics of the model are identical to the SS 1 Coupe, with the exception of additional glass installed in the base of the roof.

All elements are made of various high-quality alloys. Includes: Ignition coil, cooling and lubrication systems, aluminum pistons, RAG carburetor, etc.

Gearbox: Gear ratios: Top - 4.75, Third - 6.52, Second - 10.04, First - 17.1. Allows you to quickly and easily switch gears. Synchronized.

Frame: Lowered with high rigidity.

Bridge: 4 gear differential. "Floating" rear axle with steel casing. The front axle is an H-beam.

Suspension: Quality stability and comfort at absolutely any speed. Springs with silent blocks in a circle. On special supports for quick installation.

Dampers: Mechanical Andre Hartford. Front - 34 3/8 × 1 3/4. Rear - 42 1/8 × 1 3/4.

Management: From Marles-Weller.

Wheels and tires: Dunlop 18x5.50 tires with 18" Rudge-Whitworth rims.

Brakes: Bendix Duo Servo. Hand and foot control on all 4 wheels, as well as a hand brake.

Gas Equipment: 12 gallon gas tank, AC fuel pump

Radiator and Grille: Chrome plated to match graceful body lines.

Bumpers: The rear bumper provides protection for the spare wheel and trunk. They look pretty attractive.

Electrical equipment: 12 volts. QBD/166S/GC headlights, fender lights, reversing light, horn, ignition, brake lights. Headlights, lamps, and horn are chrome-plated.

Finishing: “Vaumol” upholstery in colors that harmonize with the body. Wooden elements are made of polished walnut wood. Carpeting is in harmony with the color of the body.

Body: Includes a spacious trunk and quality leather roof. The body is made with smooth lines and is a real quality work of masters. Has amazing comfort.

Doors: Installed on chrome-plated hinges, which, combined with sufficient width, provides free access to the cabin even for the tallest passengers.

Roof: Made of excellent leather with chrome elements. Door protection is provided by chrome-plated protective visors.

Trunk: Has an amazing capacity and is quite convenient to use. Consists of leather with a chrome-plated lock.

Sunroof: Spacious with a convenient and quick opening mechanism.

Windows: Drop down windshield with concealed hinges. Lucas wipers.

Bonnet: Made of stainless steel with easy and convenient opening thanks to special fasteners.

Wings: Arched. Provide good vehicle protection.

Seats: Comfortable for 4 adult passengers. The rear seats are in the form of two chairs with armrests. The front seats are similar to the rear, providing excellent comfort for both driver and passenger. They have the ability to change the landing depth due to the rails.

Dashboard: Quite functional: speedometer, ammeter, electric clock, electric fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, radiator temperature thermometer.
