The Jaguar Markk IV Drop Head Coupe is a post-war model with a convertible roof, produced on 2.5 liter and 3.5 liter engines.
Initially, the model appeared in 1938, called the SS Jaguar Drop Head Coupe, and replaced the SS Jaguar Tourer. In 1940, production was discontinued due to the outbreak of the Second World War.
The restart of the model started only in 1945, and if the pre-war model was made on three types of chassis with different engines, then the production of the post-war DHC model began only with 2.5 Liter and 3.5 Liter engines.
In 1948, the model received an unofficial postscript Mk IV (Mark 4). The new Jaguar Mk V was announced.
