About SS Cars SS 2 Saloon

The car went on sale with the SS 2 Open Four-Seater in 1934, and was the result of an expansion in the lineup. It was a model very similar to the SS 2 Coupe , but differed by the roof and the presence of additional side windows in the rear (“four light”).

The production of the model in this body lasted until 1936, when newer car models came to replace, and the production of all SS 1 and SS 2 was curtailed.

There is no exact data on the number of cars manufactured in the Saloon body, however, based on the total number of SS 2s of ~1800 copies, and minus the first models, the Saloon and Tourer models account for ~1096 cars. Given the popularity of both models, it can be assumed that approximately 500 copies were made during the existence of the SS 2 Saloon.

SS Cars SS 2 Saloon Overview

The specification of the model duplicates the parameters of the SS 2 Coupe, with the only difference being that a couple of additional windows are built into the roof.
